Have you ever been made feel not so smart when asking a question that was actually pretty easy to get the answers to without getting anybody involved
Well, this is actually a good way in today’s society where you can leverage other people’s ego for your own benefits. The best part is, you don’t even have to pay for it.
Well, you have to pay for it, but the currency is your own ego versus the other people’s. So how this works is pretty easy.
You go to a place where this is very common, like Reddit or twitter and you just ask a dumb question, or even better, make a clearly wrong statement.
Everybody will be ready to tell you how stupid you are and why you’re not figuring it out yourself while telling you the answer you actually wanted to know in the process.
So you basically outsourced the job at the cost of ego and somebody else being a successful keyboard warrior. Plus you get the benefit of crowdsourced fact checking, as others will join the fight to get paid in gratification for correcting the corrector.
The difficulty of doing that is probably just that you have to keep your own ego in check. But if you’re a trader like me, then this is not really a problem because losses are part of the game. You cannot be successful without taking any losses. And this is actually a good way of going about that, by just let somebody else feel like they are the hero, they saved the day, but in fact actually worked for free.
for you!
