a list of things consumed over the years.
generally speaking, i do tend to buy everything used, this releaves me of the fanboy-tax, and since warranty is a myth anyway this days, its better to opt for somethings repairable over something shiny.
and that comming from a apple-boy, yes i know this makes little sense haha.
Vehicles
my first own vehicle was a Ford Fiesta Mk1 from around 1982 or so, in which i had my first accident as well as i did fall asleep on the wheel and hit the road barrier, which did cost me the side mirror.
after that i had a series of vehicles listed in order:
- SEAT Panda (1980)
- Mercedes Benz E 55 Combi
- Mitsubishi Colt (1990)
- Toyota Vios (2004, just a better looking Soluna) (had my second accident in)
- Mazda 3
- Alfa Romeo 156 (Selespeed (of course))
- Mercedes Benz CLC SportCoupé
- Ford Focus MkII Hatchback
Computers
my first Computer was a Atari 800XL, followed by a Commodore 64.
later i got a Kaypro II which brought me great joy
and a first real feeling for proper Operating system use.
more serious computing started then with a 386 desktop with a brown color CRT, and then gradually went trough the whole thing 486, P1 P2 P3
in 2002 i went Mac, with a Macintosh portable, and never really came back.
i still own a iMac CRT green, iMac UFO, white Macbook 13.3”, a 2007 iMac 24″, a 2009 iMac 27″ and currently work on a 2014 iMac 27″ with a 6K Retina display (its a school edition)
also maintain 2 Windows 10 Computers running on Xeon E5 Cpu’s for trading and a few compute sticks for information display.
my current Notebook is a Zenbook Duo (but the first edition where you can’t ajust the secondary display, which is very anoying, especially since the notebook has pretty bad graphics. the models avaiable now where like 3 times the price, so i opted for the cheaper one.
Phones
i started my Mobile Journey with a Nokia 2110i , went trough serval models, even the Nokia Communicator. used a Siemens C1 in the car even.
later still stuck with Nokia, i still own a Nokia 7110 (the matrix phone)
the first smart phone was a Nokia E66
tested a few PDA’s which greatly anoyed me in the limitations they had (typical microsoft) and when the iphone came out, all this went to be history.
owned a iPhone 1,3,3G,5,5C and a 7 (which i’m still using today)
planning on getting me a 12 Mini next (yes i know its 2024 and the iPhone 15 is out already, but i’m not chasing anything here, plus i find Smartphones to be a distraction)
also rocking i Apple Watch 7 which i have no plan on updating.
