Our daughters new school uses an AI based camera system to check attendances, parents do have access to this informations too (but of course only see related kids)
This is a pretty good practical example how AI can do a job that would be impossible or massively expensive without.
The school vombines this feature with a Identification system based on RFID and Qr Codes, which provides a “virtual wallet” to the kids (basically a prepaid system where parents can deposit money for the kid to spend inside the school for lunch and other items)
a nice app combines all those things together in a single point of access.
when i saw the app the engineer inside me came out ficuring out the systems involved in doing this and the patchwork required to get smethings like this done on the backend (software) and on the hardware side, this is somethings i would gone crazy on, implementing cool stuff interconnecting things.
It’s a job well done.
Still all the technology, parents still acting like toddlers when it comes to pickup the kids
